It was a wonderful stay ☺ We had a great time staying at sigiriya cottage. The manager and all the staff was super friendly and helpful with everything. Weather it was something with the room, booking a safari tour or showing us a nice bicycle route. The new pool is great. Thank you! Our safari was amazing - please let the guide know, how much we enjoyed the tour.

Særligt ved dette sted er, at det er et meget personligt sted og man mærker hvordan ejeren og personalet selv elsker og tager sig af stedet som deres eget hjem. ☹Wifi kunne være en smule bedre, men ellers er der intet negativt at sige om dette sted.

Elcarte2024-07-16Relaxing ☺ Excellent place to spend few days or even weeks. The rooms are big, clean and modern. One can order breakfast, lunch, dinner and basically anything you want. The menu is it boring but if you talk to the chef, he will make you the best autentic Srilankan meal in the whole country. We had dinner every night during our stay and the chef made us such a delicous food which we will not forget. The owner is a great guy and he is always there to help you out and answer your questions in several languages ;)

The owner was very helpful but unobtrusive. He arranged transport and a safari at Eco Park for a good price. I was sick and they gave me a special herbal tea 😁 ☹ Nothing I was very happy with my stay.

Best hotel in Sigiriya ! I stayed a week at Sigiriya Cottage and I can definitely say it is one of the best hotels I have stayed in here in Sri Lanka. I really liked the calm and natural atmosphere of the hotel. I have even seen a wild elephant walking on the side of the street ! The room is huge with a well-maintained and more importantly clean bathroom with hot water (the pressure was good). The bed was very comfy. There’s an ac and a fan that work well. Free wifi is available mostly around the dining arra, unfortunately it doesn’t reach the rooms. It is better to have a Sri Lankan sim card to stay connected. The hotel is working on this issue. The staff was very welcoming and helpful with recommending me places and arranging for tours with a driver. The new manager has done a very good job in renovating and improving the place. He’s also a very interesting man with lots of stories to tell ! Overall I couldn’t recommend this place more in all of Sigiriya! You won’t be disappointed.
karaa022024-05-12Excellent hotel! To recommend without hesitation! Without doubt the best hotel of our entire stay (one month) in Sri Lanka. The structure was recently renovated with very clean, modern, spacious rooms, benefiting from a terrace, with very good bedding, overlooking a very beautiful, quiet garden. Air conditioning and fan in the rooms, an anti-mosquito socket already in place when we arrived and insect repellent available. Kettle tray. Small bottles of water in the mini fridge and fresh fruit juice on arrival. Large bathroom with hot water and pressure. Shower gel, conditioner, towels and hair dryer!! Good speed WiFi. A very pleasant sheltered space for breakfast and dinner. The hotel is suitable for couples as well as families (large spaces for children). And the swimming pool which is currently under construction will be a plus for customers. Owner, charming, very welcoming, concerned about the well-being of his guests, giving very good advice (and speaking French perfectly), very professional. He really helped us in several steps to visit the surroundings and leave Sigiriya. Loan of good bikes for a short ride in the surrounding countryside at the end of the day. Even at the end of the tourist season and in the unexpected absence of his cook, the owner managed to offer us dinner 2 out of 3 evenings around a very good Sri Lankan dish. We had an excellent stay there. Recommended without any hesitation.
Fl2024-04-28Beautiful property Sigriya cottage is a beautiful property run by Mr Sanjay. He has done wonderful work with this . The property is clean and neat. His staff were courteous. The rooms huge. The plumbing and air conditioning were good. Overall we had an excellent short stay in Sigriya cottage.
drpcnayana2024-04-27I wouldn't go back Complex surrounded by greenery. Rather ugly structure and not very well maintained. Very bare room, bed without mosquito net. It is saved only by the presence of air conditioning. It's a shame because considering the location, there is quite a lot of potential.

Detto ciò, Abbiamo viaggiato per tutto lo Sri Lanka e in nessuna camera abbiamo trovato queste condizioni: -lenzuola sporche -blatte in molti posti -due rane in bagno (se vogliamo essere poco critici erano anche simpatiche) -ventilatore che sembrava la motrice di un battello a vapore -internet richiesto, ha funzionato un’ora (ma non era fondamentale) Potrebbe essere davvero un bel posto se venisse quanto meno pulito. Ps Ho dimenticato lo staff: soprassediamo.
Simone L2019-12-01Nella natura Hotel molto bello immerso nella natura. I cottage sono davvero carini con arredamento minimal. Camere spaziose e pulite con aria condizionata funzionante. Consiglio quelle al piano superiore che limitano gli insetti e alcuni piccoli animali (rane e gechi). Wifi solo nelle aree comuni. Colazione discreta a base di frutta, pane tostato, pancakes e bevande fredde e calde.
Wondermau2019-09-04Ottima camera e buon cibo Abbiamo soggiornato in questo hotel 2 notti e devo dire che siamo stati bene. L'hotel è strutturato su 2 livelli, le camere al piano terra sono le piu datate ma dotate di wifi, mentre le camere al livello superiore sono nuovissime e spaziose ma il wifi non prende proprio (anche se ogni tanto non andava nemmeno nella zona ristorabte..). Noi eravamo nelle camere nuove e siamo stati contenti nonostante basterebbe poco per rendere la sistemazione migliore (pareti e pavimenti sono in cemento vivo e quindi non piastrellate). La camera volendo viene rifatta (cosa rara in sri lanka) tra una notte e l'altra e l'aria condizionata in camera è nuova, silenziosa ed efficente. Ultimo ma non ultimo la cena è piu che discreta con un servizio veloce (per gli standard srilankesi) e pulito. Consiglio comunque sempre di richiedere un menù nel pomeriggio e ordinare già i piatti che vorreste mangiare indicando poi la vostra ora di arrivo in modo tale da aspettere poco per mangiare.

Propriétaires chaleureux et nous ayant réservé une Surprise de taille pour notre anniversaire de mariage ( gâteau et ambiance digne d’une grande fête) Repas et petit déjeuner servis dans le restaurant extérieur : très goûteux et superbement servis. Petit plus: faire une visite au lac à l arrière du cottage! A ne pas manquer ! A quelques pas du sigiriya roc!

Overall one of the best places I've stayed in four trips to Sri Lanka. All at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended. Pete. UK

The pictures do not do this place justice. The rooms were spotlessly clean, the advice on trips and tours spot on and we enjoyed a lovely meal in the restaurant. A day by the pool was exactly what we needed after so much travel and we feel much rejuvenated. Thanks for such a great stay! Highly recommend.

This place is almost excellent. It’s clear a lot of work has gone into making Sigiriya Cottages a wonderful space, and the new pool once it is built will no doubt add to that. It was peaceful and my kids had fun in the garden. Good WiFi in the bedrooms and great water pressure in the shower. Breakfast was not as good as we’d expected having read the reviews. The receptionists were lovely, but the rest of the staff just lacked a certain spark that I think would have made the overall experience much better, everyone just seemed really glum.

Amila sampath2024-06-05Chambres réparties dans un très beau jardin spacieux, calmes, dotées d'une très bonne literie, bien aménagées : air conditionné et ventilateur, plateau bouilloire (avec sachets de thé et dosettes de café), réfrigérateur et même sèche-cheveux ! WiFi de bon débit. Prêt de vélos (très belle balade autour du lac). Beaucoup d'espace, hamacs dans le jardin, aussi bien adapté aux couples qu'aux familles. Propriétaire très accueillant, soucieux du bien-être de ses hôtes, donnant de bon conseils (et parlant parfaitement le français), très professionnel. Même en l'absence impromptue de son cuisinier, le propriétaire s'est arrangé pour nous proposer 2 fois de dîner autour d'un très bon plat. Nous y avons fait un excellent séjour. Recommandé sans aucune hésitation. Piscine prévue pour l'été 2024.
F L2024-04-28We stayed in Sigriya cottage in April as a family. The property is easily accessible from the main road. The owner Mr Sanjay welcomed us. His staff were courteous. The room we booked was huge with comfortable double and 2 single beds. The bathroom and room was spic and span. The property is huge with fruit bearing trees all around. It's only a 10 min drive to Lions rock. Though food is available at the Cottage we opted to eat out. They accept card payment which is a huge plus..as in Sri Lanka most places accept only Sri Lanka Rupee. We had an excellent short stay in Sigriya cottage. I wish Mr Sanjay the very best in this business

Overall service and restaurant at very good value for money, service level extraordinary for a country like Sri Lanka. Highly recommended.

Il nous a recommandé des visites que nous avons beaucoup appréciées, nous a parlé du pays dans un français excellent et nous a aidé à organiser la suite de notre séjour. Nous pouvons que vous recommander cet endroit ! De plus, les projets à venir sont pleins de belles promesses ! Nous espérons vivement revenir pour voir la belle évolution de ce lieu déjà magnifique. We had the best wifi in Sri Lanka we could work here for 2 days quite normaly. Only Thing no wifi in the rooms. We also did the rock tour from the cottage. Overall the best or one of the best stays in Sri Lanka
